James sings and plays harmonica, although not normally at the same time. A New Zealander, he has been in music nearly full-time for the last fifteen years, having played gigs throughout Australasia, UK, Europe and the United States. Starting out as a blues player, James has since branched out into funk, soul, rock, Cuban jazz, alt-country and roots-rock.

He’s been able to bring all these influences to the Talking Strawberries, helping to build our diverse but popular repertoire.
